Not sure a dashboard becomes immediately obsolete because it triggers a question…

For another user it might trigger a different question, or same user may have a different question next time the numbers are refreshed, etc

In my mind the dashboard´s main function is to trigger questions when needed, not to answer all possible as yet unasked questions

In this context, I also don´t there is any difference between a curated dashboard and a curated dataset…

Both are curated based on (and biased by) what the analyst or manager finds important based on their prior experience (or tribal knowledge or …)

So most probably that curated dataset will not contain all that might be needed to answer any and all as yet unasked questions either

Which is not an issue or a failure, quite the opposite

Not providing means to trigger questions, that is an issue

Not asking questions, that is a failure
